Lifeline Housing and Support Officer:  Lifeline has a vacancy for Housing and Support Officer. Do you have the experience and expertise to make a difference to the lives of people who have been homeless? Do you have the determination and resolve to sustain you through challenging and demanding situations? If you do we have a vacancy that meets your profile. We provide homes for men who have been or are at risk of being homeless. Critically we also provide support for our residents through mentoring, advisory and personal development opportunities. Without support many of our residents would return to lifestyles that put them at risk of being homeless again. This support is provided by Lifeline’s Housing and Support Officers. The process of moving from supported living into an unsupported tenancy and employment can be a slow process and requires great patience.

Lifeline receives referrals from a number of homeless organisations including Harrogate Homeless Project. Homes are provided without discrimination or favour to those who will benefit from the support we offer. Lifeline was formed in 2012 by Carl and Georgie Good, working in conjunction with the Churches in Harrogate with a shared vision to help homeless people and remains dependent on the prayers and generosity of the Christian community to fulfil and maintain its vision. The successful candidate will need to feel comfortable with the ethos and aims of Lifeline (we fully subscribe to the “Charter for Christian Homelessness Agencies” as produced by Housing Justice – see attached)

Lifeline is hiring!

Carl and Georgie Good set up a registered charity ‘Lifeline Harrogate’ in 2012. Lifeline houses people who otherwise would be homeless. We work in partnership with other homeless agencies in the town including Harrogate Homeless Project. We also have a partnership with the national Charity Green Pastures (www.greeenpastures.net) who have bought Lifeline 3 lovely 3 bedroom houses in the town which we use to house and support people to transition them towards full independence.

We have a vacancy for a Housing and Support Officer to work with some of our residents. This is a part-time post. The housing element of the work covers many landlord type duties and the support element involves working with the resident through an agreed support plan.

This is a post that requires amongst many other traits character, determination and patience.

Lifeline is a Christian Charity and so the successful candidate will need to feel comfortable with the ethos and aims of Lifeline (we fully subscribe to the “Charter for Christian Homelessness Agencies” as produced by Housing Justice – see attached).

If you are interested please could you provide your CV and a supporting statement stating why you feel this role would be suitable for yourself, and reply to us by the 20th December.

Please either write to Carl Good, Lifeline (Harrogate) Limited, Wesley Chapel, Lower Hall, Oxford Street, Harrogate. HG1 1PP or alternatively email us at lifelineharrogatelimited@yahoo.co.uk. lifelinecharter lifelinehousingofficerrole-1216
